Greetings,
Today, April 2nd 2019 marks the one-year anniversary of the death of our beloved Jamie Phillips. Our hearts continue to mourn his loss and we enter this month with a renewed commitment to service. Although cancer in children is rare, it is the leading cause of death by disease past infancy among children in the United States. In 2019, it is estimated that 15,590 children and adolescents, ages 0 to 19, will be diagnosed with cancer. This dreaded disease has the ability to bankrupt a family emotionally and financially. The out of pocket costs for the average middle- class family often overwhelms and devastates the family’s budget. There are numerous charities raising money to find a cure for childhood cancers and we hope and pray that it will be discovered soon. It is truly heart wrenching to see a child suffer with this illness. Until that cure is available for all children and adolescents, the Jamie Phillips Memorial Cancer Fund, Inc. is on a mission to help alleviate the financial burdens incurred by families. We ask that you support us in this endeavor by sending a donation today. All donations will be used to help families in need.
Valerie Phillips,
Executive Director
